Dr. Anne Cheever joined DARPA as a program manager in August 2020. Prior to joining DARPA, Cheever was a lead biotechnologist at MITRE Corporation, where she provided scientific and strategic support to multiple federal institutions in the areas of biodefense, biosecurity, disruptive technologies, and emerging infectious disease. She also led a team focused on COVID-19 vaccine acceleration, communications, security, and data analytics in support of Operation Warp Speed (OWS) and the Department of Defense (DoD). She is a former fellow of the Johns Hopkin’s Center for Health Security Emerging Leaders in Biosecurity Initiative and an alumni of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellowship. Dr. Cheever received her Doctor of Philosophy degree in cell and developmental biology, Bachelor of Science degree in ecology, ethology, and evolution; and certificate in business administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
